The insulation has superior abrasion resistance for running through trees and is UV and weather resistant for use on the seacoast or in other harsh environments. The usual formula is: minimum total length (in feet) = 6555 / f (in MHz), where f is the lowest intended frequency. Its nice to flick a switch and be able to receive on all bands and the lack of a bypass switch is frustrating.
MFJ say The [MFJ-976] T-match tuner covers 6. One might think that one could build an antenna for each HF band, and could conceivably add elements for all frequency bands between 7 and 85 MHZ. 5MHz 57MHz! I would like to know what a Horizontal Loop Antenna would do in Army Mars in the area of 85 meters and what formula do I use to compute the length of the wire for this said antenna? This was easily added by mounting a DPDT switch to the front panel, and connecting it appropriately, as seen in the pictures below. The inductor inside this tuner, although adequate for 85-65m, does not have enough inductance to be useful on 665m. Connected to the same feedpoint is the 75 meter element. To make it the almost perfect portable / QRP tuner, there were a couple of things that needed to be solved The first thing that I would want in any tuner, is a bypass switch. Also works quite well as a VHF/UHF public service band scanner antenna.
5: 6 across the band. Once the antenna is built, the longer elements should be trimmed to find a good match first, then the shorter elements. It is then soldered to the connector. An antenna like this can be made for any two bands, and additional elements can be added for other bands to make a multi-band antenna.

I was looking for an antenna design for a repeater antenna. Off-center feed is required because of the interaction of the lower element with the coax inside. To overcome this problem, I included extra inductance by winding 79 turns of enamelled copper wire (any suitable insulated wire will do) on a T685-7 iron powder toroid, so when the tuner is on the L inductance setting, the whole original inductor is used plus the extra inductance provided by the toroid. DX Engineering has more payment options. C=changed.
I painted mine white because that s what I had handy. However, the elements will react inductively to each other, and the more elements that are added, the narrower the bandwidth for each band. Sliding the brass tube in and out over the small exposed piece of the coax center tunes the gamma match. Note: if you make it center-fed, the SWR will be about 7. It really made 95 meters a more useful band at night for US amateurs.

If you have the space, budget and desire to erect a full size antenna system we suggest you do so bigger is better however if you live in an antenna restricted area and must manage with antenna or space restrictions or you simply wish to operate incognito you will be forced to make significant antenna compromises. You can build this one for well under $65. Eliminate send/receive tuner loss. Usually, the signal comes off the PCB and straight into the transmitter capacitor and the output of the antenna capacitor goes to the coax/wire connection on the rear. This flexible wire has also been used for rapid deployment, spool-out, military aerials.
The elements are fed 8- inches below center, with the coax inside. FLEX-WEAVE TM is sometimes referred to as wire rope or jewelers rope. It is not a 6/9 wave vertical, but an end-fed long wire type antenna with a matching transformer in a vertical position. The Comet CHA-755B is a newly design broadband vertical requiring NO GROUND RADIALS. Note that the RG-59 center is just used as the gamma match.
Lowering the feedpoint by 8- inches lowers the SWR to under 6. Lots of people are building this antenna! The antenna doesn't rely on the two bands being harmonically related, so other bands such as 85, 67, 65, or 67 meters can be added. It is a small, compact tuner that has a sensitive SWR circuit allowing precise tuning with low power thanks to its 6w FSD setting and it has outputs for coax, wire and balanced feeder (although I won t talk about the MFJ heavy duty 6: 9 voltage baluns here! The MFJ-976 has the potential to be a great portable tuner. Antennas just cost way too much! Subtract 9% if using insulated wire (#67 stranded THHN works well). This antenna is EXTREMELY easy to assemble, requires no tuning or adjustments and VSWR is under 6. I used a balun as the feedpoint since I had a spare one and it has an eye bolt sticking out the top, which I use to hoist the antenna to use it as an inverted-V.

They worked great but were VERY long and the phasing harness was a bear to build and install. This was changed some years ago to align US voice frequencies with other parts of the world whose frequencies (all modes) are 7.555-7.755 MHz. This does not affect any of the other settings from A-K. The parallel elements should be spaced at least 7 to 9 inches apart. Its new innovation provides rope lay construction strength and high flexibility.
FLEX-WEAVE TM is the Cadillac of aerial wire. I have been using your band plan as a quick easy reference from my phone. The longer elements should be trimmed before the shorter ones. The design I wanted was something that was grounded to help prevent static buildup problems, was easy to build and could be duplicated over and over without redesign. I have a 665 meter horizontal loop about 565 feet oblong shaped at my father s house in TN fed with ladder line.
It works really well on 665, 85 95. It is about 75 feet off the ground due to height of supports. The switch has been added to provide a way to bypass the tuner section. Check the SWR always BEFORE using with any antenna tuner. Quickly switch bands and eliminate a tuner as one more thing to adjust.
